PERAN PENGGUNAAN MEDIA VIDEO DALAM MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN SISWA TENTANG ILMU FIKIH (SHOLAT FARDHU) KELAS VII (TUJUH) DI MTS AL-ASY’ARI JAWILAN

Abstract

This thesis aims to determine the role of using video media in improving students’ understanding of Fiqh material on obligatory prayers (Sholat Fardhu) among seventh-grade students at MTs Al-Asy’ari Jawilan. The background of this research stems from students’ low level of understanding of prayer practices, which is often caused by the use of less engaging conventional teaching methods. Video media, as an instructional tool, is believed to enhance students’ interest and facilitate better comprehension through visual and practical learning.The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 25 students from the seventh grade of MTs Al-Asy’ari Jawilan. Data were collected through observation, tests, and interviews, and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively to determine learning improvement.The results of the study indicate that the use of video media in Fiqh learning significantly improvesstudents’ understanding of Sholat Fardhu. This is evidenced by the increase in students’ average test scores from 67.4 in the pre-cycle to 82.6 in the second cycle. Moreover, students’ activeness and enthusiasm during learning also improved. Thus, it can be concluded that video media plays an important role in enhancing the quality of Fiqh learning, particularly in the practice of obligatory prayers.
